Adaptive Automotive realizes that when you install other rims or perform a power upgrade, this often involves an upgrade of the brakes.
We have carefully selected manufacturers who supply top quality brake discs, brake pads and big brake kits. To help in this choice, we have prepared a step-by-step plan to find out what type of brake upgrade is right for you. There are basically 5 types of upgrades for your brakes:
Before you apply the brakes, make sure that the pedal feel is good and that your fading is reduced. You do this by ensuring that the pedal pressure is correctly transferred to the caliper. Steel brake lines strengthen the brake lines considerably and they expand less than the standard brake lines. If you go for a different type of brake fluid, choose at least a DOT 5.1 brake fluid. This brake fluid has a higher boiling point and is therefore less likely to lose braking power.
The type of car driver plays a role in the choice of your brake pads. If you mainly drive highway kilometers and if you are more likely to have to make an emergency stop at high speed, new brake pads are a good investment. The braking power increases and your stopping distance is reduced. The standard brake discs do not need to be addressed. Ferodo and Tarox brake pads are ideal for this. The wear of these pads is higher than the brake pads that are fitted as standard, but are accompanied by a gain in stopping power.
If you often have to drive short distances, inside and outside built-up areas or do you regularly visit a circuit, new brake pads and brake discs are highly recommended. When you choose this option, keep in mind that you choose the right combination of brake discs and pads. The manufacturers selected by us offer complete sports sets in which the components are coordinated. You have brake discs with grooves and cooling holes, which will wear out faster, but do increase the braking power. An additional advantage; it often looks nicer.
With a big brake kit, the calipers are often supplied with more or larger pistons. In addition, you can choose between grooved or ventilated discs, this ensures that the heat is dissipated better. This prevents wheel play caused by a wheel bearing that is too hot.
Often the big brake kits are only mounted on the front. This also requires the most braking power.
Not looking for an upgrade for your brakes, but want to make calipers more noticeable? Looking for a non-OEM colour? Almost any desired color is possible with logos under the clear coat.
